Analysis of Factors Affecting Severity of Stage IV Breast Cancer Using Ordinal Logistic Regression at Dharmais Cancer Hospital a)b) Department of Statistics, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember Abstract Cancer is the deadliest disease in the world. Cancer is caused by the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the body that can damage normal cells in other parts of the body. One of the most common cancers is breast cancer. The severity of breast cancer is divided into 5 stages, from stage 0 to 4. For stage IV breast cancer, it has its own severity level based on where the metastases are formed. The order of severity of stage IV breast cancer from the most dangerous to the least is multiple metastases, brain metastases, liver metastases, lung metastases, and bone metastases. Until now, it is not known with certainty the factors that influence the severity of stage IV breast cancer. Therefore, research needs to be done to find out what factors affect the severity of stage IV breast cancer. This study uses the ordinal logistic regression method with the research unit being patients with stage IV breast cancer at the Dharmais Cancer Hospital in 2021. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the most patients with stage IV breast cancer at the Dharmais Cancer Hospital were patients with bone metastases, as many as 78 patients. or 40% of 197 patients. From the analysis results obtained four logit models with factors that affect the severity of stage IV breast cancer. The influencing factors are the duration of the illness and the status of the progesterone receptor. It is also known that the odds ratio for the long-suffering variable is 1.047 and the progesterone receptor status variable is 2.499.
