Abstract

Guaranteed halal products and food safety are the main problems faced by society today, especially for the Muslim community. The increasing number of cases of food counterfeiting causes losses both economically and decreases the level of consumer confidence in producers. Blockchain technology and the internet of things are one way to solve the problem of halal supply chain traceability and food safety. Blockchain and the internet of things have become a significant concern of researchers around the world with an abundance of literature in recent years. The author tries to show the structure, scope, research trends, and influence of blockchain and the internet of things in halal supply chain traceability and food safety by analyzing existing studies using bibliometric analysis. This study finds that researchers are mostly focused on the possibility of blockchain and the internet of things becoming the dominant technology in increasing trust among stakeholders in the food supply chain.
